Jimmy has teamed up with Tim Healey and Kevin Whately to record the Geordie classic "Blaydon Races" as a tribute to the late Bobby Robson.

Jimmy is back on TV in a new 6-part comedy series "Parents of the Band".

Episode 1 will be shown on 28 November 2008 at 8.30pm on BBC1.

Jimmy appeared at the Teenage Cancer Trust charity show at the Sage on 22 September 2007. He performed "Once upon a Time", "Night of 1000 Stars" and "Big River".

All a bit quiet these days. We did hear a rumour that Jimmy was working on "a project".

Jimmy appeared tributing Mark Knopfler at the Civic Center in Newcastle on October 19 2006. Among the artists were fellow geordies Tim Healy, Alan Shearer and former Dire Strait member John Illsley.

The recent tour by Billy Mitchell and Bob Fox included a version of Jimmy's Big River.
